For the December interactive session, we are honored to be hosting astronaut Dr. Anna Fisher to discuss space medicine and her work at NASA. Dr. Fisher became the first mother in space when she launched from Kennedy Space Center aboard the STS-51A on November 8, 1984. She has earned numerous awards and honors including the NASA Space Flight Medal, Lloyd's of London Silver Medal for Meritorious Salvage Operations, Mother of the Year Award (1984), California Science Center Woman of the year (1986), NASA Exceptional Service Medal (1999), and UCLA Alumni of the Year Award (2012).
