This is an open call to all participants. Submit your ideas on how you would improve patient outcomes, increase efficiency in delivering care, and drive down the cost of care through the use of Big Data or Data Analytics. The scope for this challenge includes data collection, linking/combining cross industry data sources, analytics, machine learning, and identifying and closing data-driven knowledge gaps to build new capability in healthcare and to create new treatment paradigms.
Finalists will be honored at a live event where they will present their ideas to a panel of Celebrity Judges, Challenge Sponsors, and fellow participants. Up to $50,000 of services in kind may be divided among Challenge winners to further develop or pilot their ideas. (#CPCBigData)

He works at Verily as Health IT Ecosystem Lead, and is a visiting scientist at the Harvard Medical School Department of Biomedical Informatics. He has developed APIs to support clinical care and research (SMART Health IT, Clinical Decision Support Hooks, Precision Medicine Initiative, Sync for Science).

Rob Faulkner has been a partner at Redmile Group, a healthcare investment firm, since 2008 investing in public and private medical device and digitally enabled service companies. Previously, he was a sell-side stock analyst for investment banks and started his career in the pharmaceutical industry.

Darshak Sanghavi, MD, is the Chief Medical Officer of OptumLabs. Most recently, he was the Director of Preventive and Population Health up at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation at CMS/HHS and a fellow and managing director of the Brookings Institution. Sanghavi is also associate professor of pediatrics and the former chief of pediatric cardiology and at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is a regular contributor to the New York Times and his best-seller, A Map of the Child: A Pediatrician's Tour of the Body, was named a best health book of the year by the Wall Street Journal. He also is a mentor at 1776DC’s accelerator and a prior winner of the Wharton Business Plan competition.
