Quadruple Impact Challenge

FAQ

Introduction

The Quadruple Impact Challenge is an open call for on the ground solutions or ideas that are creating impact, big and small, in the changing environment of medicine. We are specifically looking for innovative ways to deliver care, new ways to connect patients with their own data and the care team, and interesting use of medical devices and wearables to gather data. The best solutions will be those that accomplish the Quadruple Aim of enhancing the patient experience, improving population health, reducing costs, and improving the work life of health care providers, including clinicians and staff.

Who can participate in The Quadruple Impact Challenge?

The Challenge is open only to individuals who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry and who are not residents of cities, states, countries or other jurisdictions where such challenges are prohibitied or restricted. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

Any individual participating in the Challenge that is a health care provider or government employee agrees to take full responsibility for reporting under the Sunshine Act or other applicable legislation any prizes they may win or gifts they may receive as a result of entering the Challenge.

We want to hear from everyone who has potential solutions to achieve the goal of achieving the quadruple aim. This means not only healthcare professionals, but also engineers, scientists, thinkers, entrepreneurs, inventors, family and friends of patients and patients themselves should feel empowered to submit your ideas.

How does the Challenge Work?

Simply submit your idea at the contest submission page. Voting is crowd-sourced (encourage your friends to come and vote for you!). The Official Judges will also vote after the submissions deadline.

What can I Win?

The Grand Prize is $10,000 in cash.

Do I need IRB or a Formal Project?

No, your submission can be purely at the idea stage. You don't need to have started a company, or have a prototype, or have an IRB approval already. Just explain your ideas/plans in the submission form.

What are the Judging Criteria?

Entries will be judged based on the following criteria

  • Does the solution adhere to the challenge theme of achieving the Quadruple Aim?
  • Is the proposal practical?
  • How wide-ranging is its impact?
  • Is it cost-effective?
  • How far advanced is the team? Do they have a prototype? Have they run trials/pilots?

Can I edit my entry after I submit it?

You may edit your entry up the submission deadline. After that, you can communicate with the judges directly to expand and refine your idea. The judges will consider all of your responses as part of the overall submission.

Can I submit more than one idea?

Yes, you can submit as many ideas as you like.

How do I win?

The top six submissions in this online challenge will be invited to demo their solutions in front of a live audience at the MedTech Impact Conference and Expo in Las Vegas, NV on December 14-15, 2017.

Four of these six finalists will be chosen based on the crowd voting and judge scores, while an additional two "wildcard" finalists will be chosen directly by a panel of experts from Tarsus Group, regardless of their crowd vote total.

At the live event, a panel of expert judges will review each of the 6 finalists solutions and will choose a single grand prize winner, who will be awarded $10,000 in cash. A runner-up and third prize winner will also be selected and recognized for their achievement.
