    David Newby is British Heart Foundation John Wheatley Chair of Cardiology at the University of Edinburgh. He has research interests in clinical trials of coronary heart disease, aortic stenosis and heart failure. He was a senior investigator of the 3CPO trial of non-invasive ventilation in acute cardiogenic pulmonary oedema, and chief investigator of the SCOT-HEART trial of coronary computed tomography angiography in patients with suspected angina pectoris due to coronary heart disease.

    Dr. Justin Ezekowitz is on faculty as a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology and Co-Director of the Canadian VIGOUR Centre at the University of Alberta. He is a cardiologist and Director of the Heart Function Clinic at the University of Alberta Hospital and Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute. His research and clinical focus is on heart failure. He is involved in numerous clinical trials in heart failure as a site investigator, and on the steering or executive committee for several multicenter international trials. He is also involved in the design leadership and implementation of several investigator-initiated trials funded through governmental and non-governmental research agencies.

    Juan Cabello is a Cardiologist and Clinical Epidemiologist. He devotes part of his time to caring for patients at Alicante General University Hospital where he was previously Director of the Research Unit and co-ordinator of the “PhD programme in Clinical Research”.

    He is leading the Cochrane review about the effect of Oxygen therapy for Acute Myocardial Infarction (Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews 2010 , 2013, 2016) and collaborating in other Cochrane reviews such as : Colchicine for pericarditis, Certoluzimab Pegol for Rheumatoid Arthritis, Heparin versus 0.9% sodium chloride intermittent flushing for prevention of occlusion in central venous catheters, and drinking extra water or other beverages for promoting weight loss or preventing weight gain.

    Dr Ziad Nehme is an Advanced Life Support Paramedic and post-doctoral researcher with key interests in prehospital emergency care. He holds appointments as a Senior Research Fellow with the Centre for Research and Evaluation, Ambulance Victoria (Melbourne, Australia), an Adjunct Senior Lecturer with the Department of Community Emergency Health and Paramedic Practice, Monash University (Melbourne, Australia), and as the Ambulance representative on the Australian Resuscitation Council (Victorian branch). Ziad has previous experience in coordinating clinical trials in the challenging prehospital environment, including the AVOID trial (Air Versus Oxygen In myocarDial infarction), and has led a strong body of published works in the field of prehospital emergency care and out-of- hospital cardiac arrest. He is also an associate investigator on an NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence for Prehospital Emergency Care in Australia and New Zealand.

    Professor Tom Quinn FRCN FESC FAHA FACC is a cardiovascular nurse with extensive experience in clinical practice and research in the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and at the policy level within Government. He has been an investigator on major trials in the prehospital setting including PARAMEDIC, which was awarded Trial of the Year by the Society for Clinical Trials, PARAMEDIC-2 evaluating epinephrine in cardiac arrest, and been a steering group member for acute coronary syndrome(ACS) trials such as STREAM, ATLANTIC and EUROMAX involving recruitment in the prehospital setting. He is also a steering group member for the UK Myocardial Ischaemia National Audit Project (MINAP) and has published several analyses of this registry, relating to prehospital emergency cardiovascular care. He is a co-author of the Cochrane review on oxygen in acute myocardial infarction.
