     Dr Stevenson received his MD from Tulane University in Louisiana, completed Medicine and Cardiology training at UCLA Center for the Health Sciences.  In 1993 he joined the faculty Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he was Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Director of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Program. In September of 20017 he moved to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. His research and clinical practice focuses on the treatment of complex heart rhythm disorders with catheter ablation.  His methods of cardiac mapping incorporating entrainment mapping to guide catheter ablation are widely used.  He has published over 300 articles and chapters.  He has provided post-doctoral training to over 50 fellows in cardiac electrophysiology.  He is a recipient of the 2012 Michel Mirowski Award for Excellence in Clinical Cardiology and Electrophysiology.  He is past president of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Society, and the founding editor of Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology of the American Heart Association.

    Dr. Sana Al-Khatib is a tenured Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center (DUMC). She received her M.D. degree from the American University of Beirut and trained in internal medicine, cardiology, and cardiac electrophysiology at DUMC, where she also received her M.H.Sc. degree. Dr. Al-Khatib has expertise and experience in the diagnosis and management of heart rhythm disorders including ventricular arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation. She has focused on the study of rhythm management devices including the implantable cardioverter defibrillator and cardiac resynchronization therapy. She has investigated risk factors, prevention, and treatment of sudden cardiac death (SCD), the leading cause of death in the United States. Dr. Al-Khatib is a board-certified clinical electrophysiologist and an experienced clinical researcher in cardiac arrhythmias. As a graduate of the NIH-funded Clinical Research Training Program, she is one of a few electrophysiologists nation-wide with expertise in quantitative research methods. Her research expertise lies in the design and conduct of clinical trials, outcomes research, and cost-effectiveness analyses. She is a recipient of a National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute’s R-01 grant titled “Implantable Cardioeverter Defibrillator Therapy in Patients with Heart Failure” (2009-2013) and of an American Heart Association Career Development Award (2002-2006). She is a Co-Principal Investigator on an Agency of Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) sponsored R-01 grant titled: “Duke Cardiovascular Center for Education and Research on Therapeutics” and a Co-Principal Investigator on another AHRQ R-01 grant that involves the use of merged patient level data from 12 randomized clinical trials of ICDs. She is a co-Principal Investigator of a National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute T-32 grant for Postdoctoral Training in Cardiovascular Clinical Research. She has close to 190 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Her work has had wide influence on medical research and health policy, the latter being demonstrated by its influence on the Heart Rhythm Society Device Performance Policies and Guidelines. She has served on several professional society committees including the Heart Rhythm Society’s Health Policy committee, the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology Guideline Development Task Force, and the American College of Cardiology’s ICD Registry Steering committee. She was elected into the American Society for Clinical Investigators (ASCI) in 2013.

    Dr Behr is Reader in Cardiovascular Medicine and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist specialising in Electrophysiology at St George's University of London and St George's Hospital, London. He studied medical sciences at St John's College, University of Cambridge and completed undergraduate training with distinction in 1993 at Guy's Hospital, London. Dr Behr’s clinical and research interest is in sudden death and its genetic, clinical, epidemiological and pathological investigation. His aim is to develop novel approaches to risk stratification and prevention in conditions that predispose to the risk of sudden death. This includes the long QT and Brugada syndromes, drug-induced arrhythmia and unexplained sudden death in infants (SIDS), children and adults (SADS) as well as sudden death in the general population and acquired disease groups.

    Francis Marchlinski MD FACC, FAHA, FHRS. Dr. Marchlinski is the Richard T and Angela Clark President’s Distinguished Professor of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, the Director of Electrophysiology, University of Pennsylvania Health Care System and the Director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Marchlinski is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. He completed his postdoctoral internal medicine residency and cardiology/electrophysiology fellowship training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.   For over thirty years Dr. Marchlinski has remained at the cutting edge of cardiac rhythm management. He has authored or co-authored over 400 original scientific articles and over 150 book chapters/reviews/editorials on a variety of topics in cardiac electrophysiology. His EP team at Penn has worked to successfully improve localizing and ablation techniques for the treatment of both atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia and optimize device therapy for treating heart failure and preventing sudden cardiac death.  Dr. Marchlinski has served on the International Heart Rhythm Society Committee to establish guidelines for the treatment of atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia using catheter ablation techniques. He has been the recipient of the Luigi Mastroianni Clinical Innovator Award, the Venice Arrhythmia Distinguished Scientist Award and the ACTS Distinguished Investigator Award – Career Achievement –Translation from Early Clinical Use to Applicability for Widespread Clinical Practice.  Dr. Marchlinski is on the editorial board of ‘Circulation, Arrhythmias and Electrophysiology’, ‘American Journal of Cardiology, ‘Heart Rhythm Journal’, ‘Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology’, ‘Journal of Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology’ and ‘JACC- Electrophysiology’ and is the Arrhythmia Section Editor for ‘Journal of the American College of Cardiology’.     Dr. Andrea Natale received his degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1985 from the Universita’ degli Studi of Firenze, Italy and his Board Certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine (Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology). He is the Executive Medical Director of the Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute at St. David’s Medical Center, Austin, Texas and the National Medical Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology for HCA Healthcare. A dedicated researcher and a pioneer, Dr. Natale focuses on innovative advances in the treatment of atrial fibrillation. He founded a circumferential ultrasound pulmonary vein-ablation system to correct atrial fibrillation and performed the procedure on the world’s first five patients. He also developed some of the current catheter-based cures for atrial fibrillation, and was the first cardiac electrophysiologist in the nation to perform percutaneous epicardial radiofrequency ablation, which is a treatment for people who fail conventional ablation. Recently, he was awarded the prestigious ‘2017 Eric N. Prystowsky Advocate for Patients Award’ for outstanding service to and contributions for the benefit of Afib patients and their families. Dr. Natale has been an invited speaker at hundreds of symposia and conferences around the world. Moreover, he has authored numerous published articles on pacing and electrophysiology in high-impact peer-reviewed journals in addition to serving on the editorial boards of several major medical journals. Additionally, he is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Atrial Fibrillation. With regards to mentoring and training of fellows, every two years at TCAI EPLive, a 2-day intensive educational meeting, is conducted under his direct guidance and supervision. Hundreds of health care providers (specialists, trainees, nurses, and industry) attend the meeting and benefit from first-hand information on the recent advancements in arrhythmia treatment and research as well as get the opportunity to interact with authorities in electrophysiology. Besides, he is the course director of annual International Symposium on Left Atrial Appendage (ISLAA) summit and the Venice Arrhythmia symposium. His goal is to improve patient care through innovative advances in technologies such as robotic devices and highly specialized ablation catheters as well as training future electrophysiologists.

    I am currently Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Louisville and Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. I am board certified in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology and hold a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. I currently serve as a member of AHA's national Electrocardiography and Arrhythmias Committee and the Heart Rhythm Society’s Communications Committee. I have also served as Chair of the National Electrophysiology Clinical Standards Committee for Catholic Health Initiatives (2013-2016), a large national healthcare organization with 97 hospitals across the country, and have been instrumental in developing EP clinical standards and quality metrics across this large healthcare network. I am a section Editor for Heart Rhythm Case Reports and serve on the editorial board Journal of innovations in Cardiac Rhythm Management and Heart Rhythm Case Reports. I currently serve as a peer-reviewer for leading cardiovascular journals such as JACC, JACC EP, Circulation Research, JAHA, Heart Rhythm, and Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology, among others. I have been a designated content peer-reviewer for AHA/ACC/HRS and AHRQ guidelines and am currently the Writing Committee Chair for an AHA Scientific Statement. My research interests mainly focus on Arrhythmia Induced Cardiomyopathies as well as implantable device therapy and complex arrhythmias in patients with Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD) for advanced heart failure. I have been an invited speaker and faculty at several major national and international conferences and Cardiovascular Grand Rounds. I have made significant contributions to the cardiac EP literature, having published 50 peer-reviewed articles and 50 abstract presentations, along with several book chapters.

    r. C. Michael White, Pharm.D., FCP, FCCP received his B.S. in Pharmacy in 1994 and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1996 from the Albany College of Pharmacy.  He completed a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Outcomes Research at Hartford Hospital and the University of Connecticut (UConn) in 1998.  Dr. White joined the faculty at the UConn School of Pharmacy in 1998 and in 2008 was appointed a Full Professor of Pharmacy Practice.   He was named the Department Head of Pharmacy Practice in July 2011 and continues in that role.

    Dr White has been the Director of an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Evidence-based Practice Center since 2007, one of only 13 designated centers in North America. His 325 publications, 8786 citations, and an H-index of 50 place him within an elite group of researchers [https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=lWAD9d8AAAAJ]. His work has been published in JAMA, Lancet, Annals of Internal Medicine and Circulation with research coverage by NBC Nightly News, Good Morning America, BBC, CNN and other international media outlets.  He is an ACCP Young Investigator of the Year, AACP Lyman Award Winner, five time ASHP Foundation Drug Therapy Research Award, and recipient of the ASHP Award for Sustained Contributions to the Literature.  Dr. White’s research interests are in the areas of atherosclerosis, arrhythmias, and preventing adverse cardiovascular events from drugs, devices, herbs, and illicit substances.  He is a Fellow of the American Colleges of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology and is a University Teaching Fellow, the highest teaching award at UConn.  He has a weekly TV segment on Fox61 in Connecticut where he shares medical news with the general public.

    Dr. David Frankel is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also serves as the Director of the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship Program. Dr. Frankel received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Frankel then returned to Penn for fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and cardiac electrophysiology, and joined the faculty in 2011. He is board certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology, cardiovascular medicine and internal medicine. Dr. Frankel’s clinical interests include management and ablation of supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, as well as implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators. Dr. Frankel’s research on complex ablations has been published in Circulation, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, JAMA Cardiology and other leading medical journals.     Dr. Bowdish joined the faculty of the Keck School of Medicine of USC in 2010 and is an Assistant Professor of Surgery. He also serves as Director of Mechanical Circulatory Support and the Associate Director of the Division of Surgical Research in the Department of Surgery. He is the Principle investigator of the USC Cardiothoracic Surgery Trials Network Core Site as part of the Cardiothoracic Surgical Trials Network.

     

    Dr. Bowdish is an adult cardiac surgeon who brings surgical therapy for heart failure, mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation. His other clinical interests include aortic surgery and surgical education.\

    Dr. Justin Ezekowitz is on faculty as a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology and Co-Director of the Canadian VIGOUR Centre at the University of Alberta.     Maxime Sermesant is a research scientist at Inria, the French institute for research in computer science and mathematics. His research interests include biomedical image processing and organ modelling, especially the integration of these two areas in clinical data analysis for diagnosis, and in pathology simulation for therapy planning. His main focus in the recent years have been the application of patient-specific models of the heart to cardiac pathologies. He received his Diploma in General Engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris, France in 1999, his MSc from Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan, France in 1999, and his PhD in Control, Signal and Image Processing from the University of Nice - Sophia Antipolis, France in 2003. From June 2003 to December 2005, he was a Research Fellow with the Cardiac MR Research Group, Guy’s Hospital, King’s College London, UK and since 2005, he is a Research Scientist at Inria in the Asclepios team and a part-time Lecturer at King's College London, Division of Imaging Sciences, St Thomas' Hospital.
