Kate Taylor is a Global Innovation Manager at Boston Scientific, responsible for the coordination of various internal and external innovation programs across the company. Before this she was a Medical Device Innovation Fellow at the University of Minnesota in the area of digital health investigating the link between physiological markers and chronic pain with wearable sensors. She served as the VP of Engineering at Entarik leading the development of specialized feeding tubes for hospitalized patients. Kate also spent many years in Corporate R&D at Medtronic using her expertise in biomaterials, coatings and drug delivery working on a variety of medical devices including cardiac pacing, defibrillation and neuro stimulation leads, rechargeable neuro stimulators, mechanical heart valves, implantable and external drug pumps and catheters, glucose sensors and powered cutting tools.
Kate received her BS degree in Chemistry from the University of Virginia. She received her MS and PhD degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. Her ties with the UVA continue as a member of the Oversight Committee for the Biomedical Engineering Department's Coulter Translational Research Program.
Randall L. Schiestl, PMP, is the Vice President, R&D, Global Technology at Boston Scientific Corporation where he leads a team of talented R&D engineers, scientists and technicians chartered to develop and sustain a broad family of minimally invasive medical devices. Specific responsibilities include: technology management; product design; computational analysis, packaging, labeling and sterilization engineering; university relationships, new product development facilities and labs; knowledge management; and sustaining engineering. He has global responsibility for building technical community, emerging market sourcing and managing R&D information systems across BSC. His engineering teams are located across multiple facilities both US and OUS. Mr. Schiestl (Randy) has a BSME degree from the University of Minnesota, college of Science & Engineering, high distinction He also holds MBA and Executive MBA degrees from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management. Randy has completed the Medical Technology Management mini-MBA at St Thomas University and is certified as a Project Management Professional. Work history includes Honeywell, Alliant Techsystems, and Boston Scientific with functional responsibilities in project and program management, product and process development, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, manufacturing management, supply chain, quality, information systems, test facilities, and operations. Randy serves on multiple local and national industry advisory boards and consortiums including the Medical Devices Industry Consortium, the Medical Industry Leadership Institute, Heart Advisory Committee Medical Alley, FIRST Robotics and UMN Biomedical, Medical Device Center, Nanotechnology IABs. He received the 2011 UMAA Alumni Service Award from the University of Minnesota, College of Science & Engineering and the Design of Medical Devices Conference Award in 2012.
Eyal Geffen has 18 years of demonstrated success in various management and hands on positions. He has had experience with large corporations, coupled with extensive background building and running new ventures and comprehensive knowledge of international markets.
Eyal is a Managing partner and founder of the Sky Ventures Group, a Boston-based investment group that provides seed funding to early-stage healthcare companies. As a Managing Partner of Sky Ventures Group, Eyal is responsible for all management and day-to-day operations.

Rob joined Redmile, as a partner in February of 2008. Rob has been an equity analyst in the medical device industry since 1994. His coverage areas have included, among others, cardiology, orthopedics, urology, vision care, aesthetic surgery and diabetes. Rob has held positions with Thomas Wiesel Partners, Prudential Financial and J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. Rob began his career on Wall Street at S.G. Warburg & Co. (now UBS) where he covered biotechnology and medical device stocks for three years. Prior to moving to sell-side research, he spent two years with The Wilkerson Group (now IBM), a consulting firm specializing in the assessment of the value of the healthcare technologies and two years at Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and graduated from Harvard College.
Dr. Mooradian is a Honeywell/James J. Renier Chair in Technology Management in the Technological Leadership Institute at the University of Minnesota. He is the Director of Graduate studies for the Institute’s MS degree program in Medical Device Innovation. Dan is an accomplished Med Tech innovator with numerous patents. He has successfully commercialized several medical products. Dan is a seasoned Medical Device Executive with 17+ years of experience in the medical device industry in positions of increasing responsibility including Director of Preclinical Sciences and Director of the Research & Technology Center at Boston Scientific Corporation (2006 – 2008) and Vice President for Research & Development for Synovis Life Technologies, Inc. a position he held from 2008 -2012 culminating in the company’s acquisition by Baxter International.
Sandra is a passionate technical expert and innovator specialized in early stage assessment and development of transformational medical therapies. Sandra has led multiple projects and assessments with high business and strategic impact in multiple technology and therapy areas including digital health, imaging, diagnostics, cardiovascular, gastroenterology, urology, and women's health. Prior to joining Boston Scientific Sandra obtained her PhD in Chemistry from Tufts University where she developed an adaptive multisensor platform for vapor diagnostics. Sandra is the Winner of Boston Scientific Innovation Challenge (2015 and 2016), Winning Spirit Award (2015), and John Abele Science & Technology Award (2013).
Mac McKeen has over 25 years of experience in the medical device industry in regulatory and quality roles focused on the development, clinical study, and regulatory approvals of cardiovascular devices and is currently a Fellow at Boston Scientific with previous leadership roles at Medtronic, St. Jude Medical, Cardiac Science and Phillips Medisize. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Minnesota instructing a 4000 level course on medical device development. He is actively involved in advocacy and collaboration with the FDA through industry associations including AdvaMed and Medical Alley. He holds a BS in Industrial Technology from Iowa State University and an MBA from the University of Dallas and is RAC certified.
Ralph Cardinal is the R&D Director of Electronic Medical Equipment at Boston Scientific where he leads a global R&D team to deliver medical equipment designs, solutions, technology, and systems. Prior to joining Boston Scientific Ralph held leadership and technical positions in implanted device, medical equipment R&D and Quality at Urologix, Leptos Biomedical, Guidant, InControl, and Quinton Instruments. Ralph has a BSEE from the University of Wyoming and an MS in Computer Engineering. He has over 25 years of experience in the medical device industry across cardiac, urology and neuromodulation.
Bryan Clark is an R&D Fellow at Boston Scientific with over 13 years of experience innovating and commercializing technologies in the healthcare industry. His current focus is on identifying and developing new solutions to solve unmet clinical needs and fostering growth in white space areas, developing partnerships with external institutions and connecting across disciplines to drive innovation in healthcare. He has led numerous projects and partnerships across multiple technology and disease state areas including bioelectric medicine, digital health, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, urological disorders, and chronic pain. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Composite Materials Engineering from Winona State University and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Shafali Hill has been with Boston Scientific Neuromodulation since 2016 and is the Director of Connectivity for Boston Scientific Neuromodulation. She has over 15 years of experience in product development in the consumer technology and medical device sectors. Shafali leads the development of digital innovations in support of our therapies. Shafali has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Calgary, A Masters in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master’s of Business Administration from MIT Sloan School of Management. She lives in Santa Clarita, CA with her husband, son, and daughter.
