FAQ

Who can participate in the Wearables in Healthcare Pilot Challenge?

Anyone with a great idea and the passion to pursue it! The contest is free and open to anyone around the world.

How does the Contest Work?

Simply submit your idea at the contest submission page. Voting is crowd-sourced (encourage your friends to come and vote for you!). The Official Judges will also vote after the submissions deadline.

What kind of Ideas are we Looking For?

We are looking for ideas to use wearables to improve patient outcomes, population health, physician workflow and job satisfaction and/or decrease healthcare cost. Each prize has its own specific criteria. Please read the criteria for each prize on the "Awards" tab.

How are Entries Judged and What are the Winning Criteria?

Winners are chosen based on criteria that are defined individually for each award. Please see the Awards Tab for details.

Your score is calculated based on a combination of crowd-sourced votes and judge votes. We multiply your crowd-sourced votes by a "judge vote multiplier" which is the average judge rating (on a scale of 1 to 5) divided by 5. For example, if you received 100 crowd sourced votes, and your average judge rating was 4 out of 5, then your score would be 100 * (1 + 4/5) = 180.

Can I edit my entry after I submit it?

No, but your entry will be judged based on the total entry including comments. So, your responses to feedback you receive from the judges and experts are very important. You may respond to feedback and add comments up until the submission deadline. Judges will vote based on the final version of your entry as of the submission deadline.

Can I submit more than one idea?

Yes, you can submit as many ideas as you like.

When will the winners be announced?

The winners are announced shortly after judge deliberation ends. Please refer to the "Deadlines" section of the main newsfeed tab for the exact date.

What do I win?

Each prize is different. Some prizes are cash and others are products such as wearables. Please see the Awards Tab for details.
