1 in 4 people suffer from mild depression or anxiety, and many are unsure about the best ways to start the treatment. I believe online technology can change this and would like to create a scalable and affordable online mental health platform that allows anyone to learn about, self-diagnose and treat mild depression and anxiety.
The platform would offer treatment through a series of tracked online courses administered by health practitioners. Courses would focus on nudging people to change behaviour or introduce elements of cognitive behavioural therapy. In addition, patients would be able to arrange video conversations with approved practitioners or book appointments in the local area.
I believe such cost-effective delivery to end users, companies and health practitioners has the potential to truly impact levels of anxiety and depression in our society.
