Rena Xu, MD, MBA (moderator on this forum) posted in NOW@NEJM, a Blog for Physicians about NEJM, "The Good Word: Improving Patient Handoffs."
In the post, Dr. Xu describes how her and her co-interns in her surgical residency underwent mandatory I-PASS training. But " in the months that followed, sign-out reverted to old habits." And "outside the study environment, getting residents to embrace I-PASS as their own is more challenging."
I'd love to hear from the authors what challenges they had in implementing the I-PASS and how they were overcome.
