Dear Legal Experts,
I am in the planning phase for a startup which may include one-on-one health coaching, patient education and/or support groups focused on a specific health problem. Eventually, this coaching would be provided by certified health coaches or other professionals. I would like to provide the coaching and counseling myself, however, as I test the feasibility of my business concept. If I provide health coaching, is it considered the practice of medicine since I am a licensed physician? Should I avoid leading support groups or providing 1:1 health coaching? Would I need medical malpractice insurance? What kind of insurance framework would be most appropriate for me?
In short, how do you think I should approach these issues?
Thank you in advance,
