In Tanzania:
1. 75% of patients with hypertension diagnosed accidentally at the hospital when they come due to other physical symptoms & illness.
2. 25% diagnosed after developing complications such as retinopathy, nephropat,hy, hemorrhagic stroke etc.
3. 95% of patients diagnosed with chronic hypertension use medication only when having physical symptoms such as severe haedeche, blurring vision, dizziness, general body weakness and sense of heaviness on face and limbs.
Therefore use of wearable BP/HR Monitor will help in making early diagnosis of the disease from high risk group and promote regular use of ant hypertensive for patients with chronic hypertension, in turn will reduce morbidity and mortality.
