One of the areas Glass is excellent for is simple results review and order entry. When rounding on patients or seeing patients in the ER a provider could benefit from a quick brief tool for looking at results and inputing new orders or order sets. Utilizing the Nuance voice engine to maintain HIPAA compliance, Glass could be used to input simple orders. For example, when rounding a patient complains that their pain medicine is not working for them, the provider could quickly and easily input a new order for a suitable alternative med. In the ER setting, a provider often will see the patient then start to input orders when back at their computer station. In a dynamic patient care situation where time is critical, a provider can initiate an order set at the point of care. Think of throughput times and patient satisfaction, with decreased care times!
