I thought it might be interesting to discuss the dual allergen hypothesis, which Drs Fox and Lack proposed in their 1998 Lancet article (citation 31 in the LEAP trial paper). The concept is that early environmental exposure through the skin results in sensitization; early oral exposure leads to tolerance. Is it fair to think that other foods would have similar findings as the LEAP trial based on this hypothesis, or is peanut allergy unique?
