Let me start by saying thank you to the experts who have given their time and energy to this forum. I feel that I have had my eyes opened and have a much better appreciation for the challenges that are facing this field in the years to come. I also feel that, as a future physician, this will be an issue that needs to be engaged on both the public policy front and organized medicine. Additionally, like many issues that cross social and medical boundaries, it is critical to educate those who have the opportunity to make the impact in the lives of those they serve.
I especially have to say thank you to Dr. Webster for changing my opinion on the possibility of meaningful policy implementation in today’s environment. Our discussion online and during the talk has made me feel that targeted, well executed policy changes have a great chance of implementation, and can have a large effect on outcomes.
So my final question: What would you like visitors to the forum to walk away with?
