I feel fortunate that I am part of a new medical school with an innovative clinical course that focuses on appropriate diagnostic testing and high-value care (the Choosing Wisely campaign was discussed on multiple occasions), but wish I had learned more during my pre-clinical years (in particular, why there is a need, what is the status quo, what this means for my future practice of medicine, etc). That being said, what should medical students be taught about high-value care? How should it be taught?
