Firstly, thanks to APSA and NEJM for organizing this incredibly valuable discussion. As a current physician-scientist student, my question relates to the best path to pursue after graduation. I am aware that there are physician-scientist track residencies that are especially suited towards our particular kind of trainees but these are few and far between. Especially since I am interested in pursuing a career encompassing both clinical and research activities, would building a post-doc into my residency or fellowship be a better option than completing them consecutively, and are GME programs generally this flexible? Thanks!
