I want to thank everyone for all of their excellent posts thus far. As of now, we have been talking in broad-strokes. For the next couple of days, I'll want to talk about specific transitions that have been brought up. I know everyone won't be able to chime in, but please where you can. Lets begin chronologically (for the MD/PhD students that is). What are some suggestions (personal and professional) for success in transitioning to those PhD years (or first research experience)?
