The need for routine biomarker-based diagnosis, on-going ambulatory assessment and intervention efficacy testing in the context of emotions is underscored by the incongruence phenomenon a placebo-mediated psychophysiological dynamic that is associated with subliminal mind-body responses (outside of therapy) that are inconsistent with expressed feelings of wellness (during therapy). Patient self-report and clinician assumptions of intervention efficacy should be viewed with caution and augmented with diagnosis relevant biomarker analytics at intake, during therapy and for intervention efficacy testing. In the era of medical APP proliferation it is critical that rigorous methodologies and analytics are integrated within monitoring devices to allow for higher evidentiary clinical accountability that is crucial to the integrity and credibility of APP based diagnostics and therapy. We are advancing a Universal Clinical Trial to foster evidence-based APP usage among frontline clinicians.
