Each of these conversations has shown a trend of diversifying and covering topics including ethics, patient safety, satisfaction, resident education, and even financial factors. When we get down to it, are these trials more about the patient's experience or the resident's experience?
Surely it's both. But if we find that longer shifts are better for patients (to some extent) and worse for residents (to some extent), then what will we do with that?
