Our idea is called MyMessiah: a software application that runs on desktop/mobile and associated portable telemedicine hardware. MyMessiah connects doctors from the developed countries with patients and doctors in the developing countries via telemedicine (high quality audio/video and data service). It has features like
Find the doctor (free feature)
Meet the doctor online (paid feature)
Visit the doctor (paid feature)
Initially we are targeting patients in cities who can pay and have access to internet technology. The long term goal is to make this service available and inexpensive as possible to serve those who cannot afford. Approximately 1/3rd of the world population lives without the healthcare: 44 million people in US alone . We want to target both local and global population because "we want to make being healthy a human right".
Make healthcare globally accessible
Reduce healthcare costs
Innovate in portable telemedicine technology and applications
Knowledge sharing between developed and developing countries’ doctors.
Our market is around the globe as we are trying to make healthcare affordable and may even be free for those who can't afford it. However, we can categorize our customers into
a)Patients in developing and developed countries
b)Doctors in developing and developed countries
c)Pharmaceutical companies promoting drugs
d)Partnering telemedicine companies manufacturing portable/low-cost hardware.
Uniqueness of MyMessiah
More than one quarter of doctors in US are foreigners and want to contribute back to their respective countries. This is further incentivized by telemedicine and suitable payment options. Here is a real world example. Dr. Hamid Bashir is a Rheumatologist practicing in St. Louis, Missouri. He gets weekly phone calls from patients in Pakistan asking for advice. Dr. Bashir has a busy schedule and cannot do skype with remote patients from Pakistan. He, however is willing to use platform like MyMessiah, which could streamline scheduling, patient information, communication and billing. He is also willing to train doctors in Pakistan through Q&A, blog posts and newsletter all integrated into MyMessiah. Not only that, Dr. Bashir is interested in connecting with doctors for knowledge exchange.
Not only we connect doctors with patients who speak the same language, we partner with telemedicine companies working on portable/low cost hardware etc. Based on research, Telemedicine is a growing field with great promise in innovation.
There are local versions of myMessiah targeting customers in US alone including Healthtap , Zocdoc and Pursuant Health to name a few while we are focusing on the entire world as well as innovation in telemedicine hardware.
The few next steps involves
a)Engagement with parties like Doctors and patients to establish customer base,
b)Incorporate their feedback into MyMessiah App as features,
c)Use them as test cases for prototype of MyMessiah App,
d) Prototype App development and Demo
