The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) & the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) are pleased to co-sponsor the 5th annual Infectious Diseases Research Careers Meeting, designed to foster the next generation of infectious diseases physician scientists. The 2-day meeting for ID fellows & medical students is May 12 โ€“ 14, 2016 in Bethesda, MD. Lodging & travel costs will be provided for meeting participants.
Medical & MD/PhD students with a demonstrated interest in research are invited to apply. The meeting will begin with an exciting keynote address from NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, & participants will have the opportunity to hear from leading ID physician-scientists about frontiers in medical research. There will be presentations & discussions on the practical aspects of developing a successful career in research, such as funding, mentoring, & publishing. Attendees will have the opportunity to present their own research in a poster session & visit the campus of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In addition, our outstanding faculty will be available for both formal & informal interaction over the course of the meeting.
