AMA Xpert Eye is a connected smart glasses company that uses a proprietary augmented video conferencing solution to connect remote experts in a given field to the eyes of on-site workers in need of assistance, training, or oversight.
While in conference, the on-site worker (user) wears a pair of smart glasses (Google Glass, Vuzix or ODG models), allowing the expert to see a live first person point of view of what the worker see's. Leaving the worker's hands free to complete the task at hand, the expert can remotely zoom in, take pictures, interactively annotate those pictures, send files to the eye of the on-site worker, and communicate through audio or text chat. The worker can also choose to video record the conversation in its entirety - for patient files, incident reports, or training purposes.
All pictures, videos and annotated media are saved locally, and can be easily transferred to external servers, or securely deleted.
If no assistance or training is needed, but there is still work to be done, the glasses wearer can use the solution in "local mode". This mode does not connect the worker to a remote expert, but does give them the same capabilities as if they were in conference. the wearer can zoom in, and take pictures and videos. Our customers currently use local mode to keep their hands free while completing tasks they want recorded for training purposes, and for patient or incident files.
We currently work with several hospitals and medical device companies around the world. In tele-stroke units we are helping patients receive timely diagnoses and appropriate care from their doctors regardless of where they might be within a hospital, or in the world. The Xpert Eye software was developed by programmers from the gaming industry. Their attention to intuitive ease of use allows nurses and doctors to connect with each other in two taps on a phone screen.
In emergency services, we are helping emergency room doctors prepare for incoming patients, while giving guidance to EMTs for care in transit. For inexperienced EMTs responding to life or death situations, having a seasoned medical professional looking in on the response process helps boost efficiency and eliminate mistakes.
The Xpert Eye solution works on both wifi, and any cell signal (3G, 4G LTE), and has transmission settings that adapt to low bandwidth environments so entering into and continuing a conference is still possible with weaker signals.
