Dear Drs. Hueman & Deering, it seems you both had fairly extraordinary experiences as medics in the field, and I know that many people are rightly very grateful to you for your service (us included!). I understand that an impulse to serve others is often a reason for military service, and for entering the medical profession. When people can satisfy that impulse by practicing medicine in a stateside hospital, do you find it difficult to recruit doctors to serve in combat zones, as you did? How specifically does the military go about encouraging medical personnel to do tours of duty abroad?
