Dr. Dzirasa is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and an Assistant Professor in Neurosurgery at Duke University. His work in how key genes interact with stress and other environmental factors to influence neural circuits involved in emotional and cognitive function was recently recognized by the White House when President Obama awarded him and over 100 other scientists with the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers.
