WinguMD BodyMapSnap provides the tools to record all visual findings, and allows clinical team members to collaborate via social media-style messages to solve communications problems that occur in ER situations.
Unlike other secure photo apps, BodyMapSnap's model is encounter-based so that all photos and discussions are tied to a specific patient and incident. Our photo-first approach lets you take photos immediately with body part registration, then reconcile PHI at a later time when the patient is stable. Or if the patient or study has been established already, the user can look it up to associate it with the encounter.
BodyMapSnap is equipped with Medical grade OCR so that any documents can also be photographed together. The OCR engine is specifically designed to locate PHIs so that you can index and search them more accurately.
It is also equipped with a smart size detection tool so that wound and lesion size and such can be re-measured once they are in your DICOM imaging systems. This will be a tremendous help for orthopedic and other surgical procedures, next-day follow-up etc., which is especially important for ER cases.
Acquired photos and even chat discussions can be sent as DICOM images to your PACS and media tabs on EHR (FHIR/HL7) selectively for wider distribution and to keep them as a part of medical records.
The intelligent back-end engine also joins "chat sessions" and you can ask questions, such as, "Wingu, tell me the blood pressure," "Who saw the patient first?" etc., and a Wingu bot will respond with, “Blood pressure was 120/80 with 90bpm,” and “Dr. Smith saw this patient first.” This helps users from needing to go to another workstation and look through medical records or patient history.
As for Radiology or Lab to clinic communications, we take full advantage of the mobile notification system along with phone capabilities. Radiologists can simply send a message with Acknowledge required settings and the attending clinicians can simply tap the ACK button instead of typing a message, which will notify the radiologist that the clinician has seen the message and will act on it. It also has a quick call-back button so the attending can quickly call back the radiologist (or other staff requesting a callback) without needing to look up contacts or phone numbers. It is truly designed for a busy emergency department and allows everyone providing care in the "trenches" to communicate efficiently and keep records of all events.
WinguMD BodyMapSnap already has security clearance from the US Veterans Affairs Health System for deployment and use. All actions users can perform are fully protected in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
