Online web and mobile platform that allows patients to keep up with their health info through a Facebook-inspired usability design. Notes can be shared with contacts, searched, tagged, printed, and have attachments for documents or images. Loved ones can take notes for each other. Patients will never not know your baseline EKG or when you last saw their doctor again. Anything and everything can be stored in EZMedNotes with just one click!
Enhancing patient experience - Patients currently have no easy way to accumulate their health information, much less electronically. Each doctor they see is potentially a new app or at least a new login. With EZMedNotes, patients are empowered to keep up with and understand their health information. EZMedNotes is designed for the patient, by the patient. Hence, every single feature focuses on usability and utility for patients.
Improving population health - The data that is collected is 100% private, but similar to how anonymous Google searches can be used to understand a population, anonymous and de-identified data could be used to understand healthcare gaps, patient needs, and outcomes metrics. While possible, our company will still only pursue this direction with the blessing of our patient users.
Reducing costs - Costs can come in many forms. EZMedNotes helps to relieve the cost to a patient's health of not feeling empowered about their healthcare. Financial benefits can also be realized through increased patient preventative care. Empowered patients will also use services like emergency medicine services less since they are more likely to be plugged in.
Improving work / life of clinicians and staff - While the service of EZMedNotes is directed towards patients, everyone in the healthcare system benefits from patients having their own health information. In particular, as an emergency physicians who often see just a snapshot of patients' lives, we often struggle to get the whole picture of a patient's health from the patient and our existing health information. In addition, there's no simple way that providers can point to to help patients keep up with the information we tell them. We often have to tell them about patient portals apologetically because of how difficult to use they are.
