At CareAline, we make clothes that keep patients safe and comfortable. Our first products - CareAline PICC Sleeve and Central Line Wrap - work to keep patients and their lines safe from insertion to removal, on and off treatment, 24 hours a day. Comfortable, washable (and made in the USA), over 20 hospitals have already implemented them for patients, and are seeing dramatic increases in patient satisfaction and quality of life, reduced line complications at home or in the hospital - leading to reduced readmissions and reduced per patient costs, and improved efficacy and efficiency for nurses and care providers of these patients.
Colorado Children's Hospital did a study with a goal of reducing the accidental line removals they were having in their patients. The CareAline Sleeves and wraps brought their dislodgment rate down from 23% to 0% - completely eliminating accidental line removal while the product was being worn. They now use our products hospital wide.
Our products create a system for patients to use that is standardized from insertion to removal of the line. Currently there is no standard of care to manage lines once they are in place. Most hospitals use tape or a stockinet wrap - both which cause additional issues with the lines - or they use makeshift devices or "cut off socks" to cover them up. None are functional for treatment and all are dangerous and can cause additional complications like skin breakdown or accidental removal of the line.
CareAline Sleeves and wraps can be worn on and off treatment and during scans, all lines and ports are easily accessible to nurses and caretakers, keep lines off the skin as well as covered, and stabilize the lines during treatment. It is a complete system that can be used from hospital, to clinic, to home and back again. A standardized system will give patients and caregivers a sense of security, comfort and safety without having to search for their own solutions which can be costly and frustrating.
CareAline Sleeves and Wraps are FDA approved medical devices and are distributed throughout the world. Created by a mother for her own child when she was battling cancer, the founders have first hand experience with the need for this type of standardized line management. The technology can be applied to even more types of lines and tubes in the future, so that more patients can benefit from standardized line/tube management that brings safety and comfort. There is also the potential for including wearable sensors into the garments in order to track patients' vitals in an effort to discover if the patient has early signs of infection or medication reactions.
Help us continue to grow CareAline and expand our reach into more hospitals and facilities. Let's give patients the FREEDOM to LIVE with effective line management from CareAline.
