The goal is to have infrared motion wearables that can help predict seizures in epileptic patients or properly care for Alzheimer's patients by precisely monitoring deterioration. Alzheimer's and sleep disorders go hand in hand. Sleep patterns can help in early detection of sleep disorders and provides valuable information about the progression of Alzheimer's. A higher precision granular data can help physicians provide better behavioral therapy in addition to other treatments. At the moment, physicians rely on self reported manual sleep diaries over a week or more which is tedious and time consuming to the patient/home caregiver. This self report may not be accurate for patients with degenerating memory or non cooperative ones who may not précisly follow instructions on how to accurately keep sleep diary. The idea is to use wearables and smart algorithms to digitally formulate the Pittsburg sleep quality index in addition to other reputable sleep quality indices for better management of patients. Not only will this improve patient outcome but will also cut down the cost of managing and treating patients which is estimated to be over $100 billion
