My idea comes from a personal experience. A few years ago my sister was in the hospital with complications from Ulcertive Colitis. She was there for a week and a half and then released. The same day she was released, she woke up and was having a hard time breathing and had severe back pain. Her husband called her doctor who advised them to get back to the ER right away. She was readmitted and it was discovered she had 3 pulmonary embolisms. She remained in the hospital for another week and a half. As she was only 33 at the time with 2 small children, it was a very scary situation. It would be nice if there was a device or sensor that the patient could wear during their stay to detect signs of blood clotting or abnormalities that could lead to blood clotting.
I think this would help to avoid similar situations, or worse situations which result in death.
