Comparing it to the travel industry, healthcare is at the stage where calling a travel agent and waiting 3 days until tickets could be mailed was the norm. Now, travelers almost instantly see hundreds of options with comparative pricing and ratings and book their own travel in 5 minutes.
As we all strive to bring healthcare into the modern day, a legitimate criticism of the emerging digital health industry is the lack of comprehensive solutions to effectively address real pain points in the system. Many companies implement isolated technologies, performing isolated functions but failing to create meaningful improvements to the provider or patient experience, let alone BOTH provider and patient needs. AxS Health, at its core, is a platform that brings value and improvement to the healthcare system as a whole.
For patients, this is a digital access point to the healthcare system with the ability to book appointments or receive care when they want to be seen with fair and transparent pricing – two fundamental rights that are so frequently ignored in our healthcare delivery system. For providers, this is a platform that automates what are currently manual processes and offers the ability to treat patients via telemedicine, bringing simplicity and efficiency to a profession riddled by unnecessary complexity. For the system, the digital connection between patients and providers allows for more effective care management in a timely and cost effective manner. By using a digital platform to enhance the patient-provider relationship, we all benefit from a modern day healthcare experience that we deserve.
We have completed an ongoing case study in Southern California with a live product where we have demonstrated the ability to give the community immediate access to care, fair and transparent pricing for that care, online payments, and a meaningful digital rating system for their providers. Patients are also benefitting from the convenience and cost savings of telemedicine from local providers, saving them from time away from work or home, travel to and from appointments, and wasted time in a clinic waiting room. They also experience an improved potential for understanding their experiences with their providers, as complete records of telemedicine visits are kept within their mobile device application with the ability to share their health data with any of their providers.
Simultaneously, the AxS Health platform transforms a practice's electronic health record into a tool that functions as it was intended: bringing efficiency to healthcare. Patients are able to fill out forms on their own devices before even entering the office, after which the platform automatically creates a clinic note and prepares the patient's medical chart for the provider. This efficiency saves over 30 minutes per new patient for the office staff at a given practice, and creates the opportunity for a pleasant clinic environment with no duplicate forms or waiting in waiting rooms. Happy patients, happy practice is one of our mottoes for this reason alone! Telemedicine, while not appropriate in every case, offers clear benefits of cost savings and efficiency. Additionally, it offers the opportunity to maintain continuity of care during treatment and ensure that patients in any location - rural or urban - can benefit from modern technology in healthcare.
Allowing managers of large populations to channel patients’ healthcare access needs through educated providers who can ensure the right level of service is provided in a timely and cost effective manner is a system-wide benefit AxS Health delivers.
